Author Jackie Lee discusses what you should consider BEFORE deciding to start an internet business.  Read and reread #1 on her list!

5 Things To Know Before Starting An Internet Marketing Business
By Jackie Lee

Working from home is the dream of many people, whether it is the short commute or not having to deal with a boss. When deciding to work from home there are many business options available to you. One of which is internet marketing. In this article I will tell you 5 things you must know before deciding to enter the internet marketing business.

1. Internet marketing is a business, just like any other offline business it will take time to grow and become prosperous.

So many people get online and expect to be making money in a week or two, when they aren’t they give up and just say, oh that internet is a hoax, no one’s making money out there. This is not so, but don’t fall for all the hype that you can make hundreds of thousands of dollars in a month or two. It’s just not true. If you are desperate for money or need to make the mortgage payment yesterday Internet Marketing is not the short term way to accomplish that.

2. Know what you like.

This is an important piece of the puzzle. It’s silly to leave a job you hate to do something you hate from home. There is an opportunity for internet marketing in just about any niche you can think of, whether it’s dogs, crystals, yoga, anything! Make a list of the things you love to do and enjoy being involved in. Once you have your list made figure out how to make your interest the focus of your internet marketing business.

3. Find a mentor/coach.

This can be difficult as the internet is filled with “Guru’s” and people willing to sell you “information” for top dollar. There are quality people out there willing to help you. They may charge for their services, but in the long run the money you save from cutting down your learning curve, and not buying ebook after ebook will be well worth it.

4. Understand you don’t know what you don’t know, and you don’t know it until you know it!

There is a lot of information, tips and tricks in internet marketing. It is imperative to get a basic education in how internet marketing works and what makes it work. There are many courses available. Make sure to look around and get some reviews or recommendations from a trusted source before purchasing any product. You can find these kind of reviews/recommendations on blogs/websites/newsletters.

5.How much time are you willing to spend?

Just like any other J-O-B Internet Marketing takes time. Granted you get to make your own hours and work when it’s convenient for you, but you do still have to work. In fact, it takes consistent time most days of the week. You will not build an internet marketing empire, or even a healthy business without putting the time in to take the actions necessary to make you successful.

If you are thinking about starting an internet marketing business this article should provide you with some information to get started in making the decision if this is the right online business to pursue.

Jackie Lee has been an internet marketer for the past 5 years. She left her corporate job 18 months ago when her daughter was born and has been solely working from home since. She now provides those struggling online with mentoring as well as information and tools to build a successful internet marketing business. Be honest with yourself.  Making your own hours can be both a blessing and curse.

What are your expectations?

Will you be homeless if you can’t get your internet business turning a tidy profit in a few short weeks or months?  If so, don’t quit your day job. There are miracle stories of quick big money, but they are the exception and not the rule.

Ever since the realease of The Secret, various news groups and personalities have tried to discredit it. What drives me nuts about their attempts is the way these groups and individuals twist the message of the secret.

In the video below, Katie Couric says that the Secret teaches, “…you can have anything you want just by wanting it bad enough.”

Anyone who understands the principles behind The Secret movie knows that this is not the case. You can easily attract what you want the least by your focus.

Last night, I was on a conference call (along with 999 other people) with the renegade woman herself: Ann Sieg. I find it interesting that her answer to being succesful in netwrok marketing is to do EXACTLY what we are doing in our Connecting With Women blogging community. Did she read our sales page?!?!?

The following are reviews of her philosophies. I also provide links to her free eBook.

MLM - Ann Sieg Renegade Marketer System - A Scam?
By Bill Young

The Renegade Network Marketer, an Internet Based MLM sponsoring scheme by Ann Sieg, makes many outlandish claims:

  • Sponsor more people each month than the average MLM Distributor sponsors in a year!
  • Have people pay you to become your prospects!
  • Ends cold calling, prospects call you!
  • Allows you to close 80% of your prospects!
  • Pitches your opportunity to 1,000 people in the same time now takes you to pitch to 1
  • Works with any mlm or networking business

These results are unbelievable, especially to anyone with actual experience as an MLM Distributor.

For those of you who may not have had the pleasure of the MLM experience, here is a brief overview.

The new Distributor is pumped up with enthusiasm and products after signing up at the exuberant hotel “Opportunity Meeting.”

He is full of emotion and enthusiasm, images of big checks dancing in his head.

Following the instructions provided him by his company and up line, he studies his Marketing Handbook, (Copyright 1957!)

He obediently makes a list of his “warm market;” his family, friends and co workers. He is going to make this business go!

He then proceeds to antagonize, annoy and alienate the majority of people on the list by trying to cajole them into going to a Mystery Meeting at the local Holiday Inn. Remember the last time you were approached by a friend or worse, a family member who was so excited about their MLM business? (Gag!)

Most won’t even go to the meeting, those that do, don’t join and the list is quickly exhausted; as are the people on the list from being harried by the overzealous Distributor. Many suicides have been blamed on repeated and willful harassment by a Network Marketer.

After terrorizing his “warm market,” the Distributor is encouraged by their “up line leader” to “Keep a Positive Attitude.” They patiently explain the concept of “delayed gratification” to the Discouraged Distributor and assure him that everyone goes through the same thing.

His marching orders are to “Never, Never Give Up!” and to enthusiastically “Share their business opportunity” with anyone and everyone who crosses their path during the day within 3 feet of them, the infamous, “3 foot rule.”

This scares most distributors to death, since most Americans would rather swallow flaming coals than sell anyone anything.

After a few, heart pounding, sweaty palm attempts; often leading to abject humiliation, the discouraged Distributor decides that MLM business may not be for them, after all.

Turning again to their “Up Line” for help, the Distributor is told about this Wonderful Holy Grail of opportunity seekers, who are just waiting to be called so they can buy his opportunity.

These are Fresh, Hot, Exclusive, Local, Real Time Opportunity Seeker leads, (each additional adjective adds at least a dollar to the price!), who, at $1 to $5 each are supposedly sitting by their phones, waiting for the Distributor to call.

After spending anywhere from hundreds to thousands of dollars per month and countless hours dialing for dollars, the Distributor is not only discouraged, his forced enthusiasm finally faded, he is also broke!

Turns out the Holy Grail was filled with a bitter cocktail of bad numbers, answering machines, rude language and very few grateful recipients. THE END!

The average Distributor’s odyssey typically spans 3-6 months. Eighty percent never sponsor anyone. Fully 99% never make a full time income.

In fact he is more likely to be deeper in debt than when he started his business. He has lost thousands of dollars on mandatory product purchases, (auto ship) marketing material, trips to company events and of course, Hot leads. He is cooked!

So, you can see why the claims made by Ann Sieg’s Renegade Marketer are so diametrically different from most people’s MLM experience, they call it a scam.

Professional marketing people, including Internet Marketers, on the other hand have no problem with such claims, they are normal and expected results of applying sound marketing principals to the task at hand.

Using these principals, Ann’s Renegade Marketer System automates the preliminary sifting and sorting (aka - prospecting) of prospects so that you’re only spending your time with people whom the System has pre-qualified for you!

It can literally process thousands of people every day!

The most qualified prospects, ironically have Paid for the privilege of becoming your prospect; instead of emptying your wallet, your advertising expenses turn into pocket filling profits.

It is a pleasure to deal with these people, as much as 80% of them will join your opportunity and, get this; some will even call you and ask to join your team!

Using the power of the Internet to sort, sell and follow up with prospects is the way such marketing icons as Dan Kennedy, J. Abraham, Joe Sugarman and Willie Crawford, are able to pull in millions of dollars each month!

Internet Based MLM is destined to become the future of MLM and the Renegade Marketer System is your ticket to future success!

The difference between the old, 1957 Marketing Methods of most MLM companies and the Renegade Marketer System is the difference between digging a hole with a pick and shovel or blasting a hole with dynamite!

If you want success in MLM from day one, if you want to salvage your dying MLM career, you will learn all you can about Internet Based MLM as quickly as you can!

“It’s because of Ann’s Renegade Network Marketer information and the Renegade System that I have been able to personally go from sponsoring 2-3 people per month into my business BEFORE I started working with Ann, to sponsoring 15-20 people per month consistently, AFTER.” Scott Rogers

Scott also says that you would be a fool not to check it out!

Ann’s free LIES report.

Network Marketing - The Greatest Lie Ever Told In MLM
By Dean Caporella

One of the greatest lies told in network marketing is “this business is suited to average people.”

Ann Sieg touches on it in her famous report “The 7 Great Lies Of Network Marketing” and for a business model which requires one to be above average, then it’s a little hard to understand why the message of “Oh, anyone can do this business” is heard so often from those recruiting new people.

No, network marketing is not suited to average people because to succeed in the MLM business one needs to have an “above the herd” mentality. Being above average means you’re on a level less crowded and competitive.

Being above average in network marketing means people will be wanting to join you in your endeavours. Just think about that for a moment. What’s the best way to attract people to you?… by being above average.

Did you ever want to be with average people? Let me rephrase that…Are you attracted to above average people? Imagine if you went the extra mile and really chased success in the network marketing business do you think there will be people who will notice you and want to participate in your business offer.

Here’s the best part - once you become an above average network marketer then you’re going to attract like-minded individuals. In other words, other above average people.

Here’s something which may very well change your life…the secret to succeeding in network marketing is to become above average. That’s it. That’s all there is to it.

“The 7 Great Lies Of Network Marketing” may have raised a few eyebrows but be realistic, when you talk to networking prospects do you tell them it’s okay to be average because this business suits average people? If you do and you’re continually chasing down prospects then you may need to re-think your strategy.

Even worse, the message of…”it’s okay to be average in this business because if you’re above average then people won’t be able to duplicate you.” What’s up with that statement. You’re basically giving your prospects a license to take it easy and relax when they join your business.

This video is an introduction to Feng Shui principles.

Feng Shui Tips For Your Home Office
By Charles Chang

According to the US Census, about half of all business in the United States are run from the home. Since so many people are working from home at least part of the time, it makes sense to try and keep things running smoothly and harmoniously. To that end, here are some Feng Shui Tips for your home office.

You’ll need your compass for some of these tips. Placing items and rooms properly is one of the keys to proper Feng Shui.

If you are able to choose the location of your home office, the best place for it to be is in the North end of your home. The North Sector is often called the Career Sector. If that is unavailable, the Southwest corner is the Wealth Sector, the Northeast is the Skills and Talent Sector, and finally the South is the Fame and Recognition Sector. Do your best to locate your home office in one of those sectors, with the North being the most desirable, and the South being the least.

Some other general Feng Shui Tips for objects within your home office are:

1) Always sit so that there is a solid wall behind your back. This ensures you have support in your life. Never sit with your back to the window.

2) Always place the fax machine, telephone, computers, and cash registers in the southeast wealth sector to attract more prospective business.

3) Arrange your desk to have a clear view of the door, preferably facing the door. If it is impossible to arrange, hang a small mirror so that you can see the door’s reflection.

4) Never put a shelf over your desk. The shelf symbolizes the burdens of the world coming down upon you.

5) Try and keep sharp items such as paper cutters, scissors, or the sharp corner of a machine away from your desk. Make sure they are not pointing at the desk. Keep as many sharp objects as possible hidden from view in a drawer or closet. The sharp edges symbolize the cutting of a knife which is a disapproving finger pointing at you.

6) Make sure that you can walk completely around your desk so that your workmates and workload do not cramp you.

7) Avoid clutter at all times and at all costs! Do not have an “in” or “out” tray on your desk. Keep only on your desk what is necessary for what you are doing at the moment.

8) Don’t keep cactus plants in your office. The needles of the cactus plants are thought to create negative energy flow.

9) Never arrange your desk in such a way that if the door swings open it will open into your desk. This will cause you to be faced with unexpected situations. If the door jams against your desk, it can block your prosperity.

10) If there are two doors in your office, don’t place your desk between them. The good Chi will pass right by you and out the other door.

As one final Feng Shui tip for your home office, a tabletop fountain made of bamboo or flat round stones is always good in the southeast corner to increase prosperity. If your company has a sign or logo, place it in the southeast corner of the office as well. Make good use of these Feng Shui tips and may you be showered with many blessings.
